When Emily needed a few bulky pieces cleared from her flat in Herne Hill, she booked us in for a quick sofa disposal in Herne Hill. A grey 3-seater sofa, an unassembled king size bed frame, a dining chair and a couple of rubbish bags all needed to go. We cover South London for jobs just like this, and had the flat cleared the same morning.
The Challenge
Everything was on the upper ground floor, so the main job was manoeuvring the sofa out through the doorway without catching the walls or skirting boards. The bed frame had not been assembled yet, so it came apart into its component slats and posts, which made the carry quick once we had it stacked. With the dining chair and bagged rubbish added on, the load was a mixed one, so we worked through it methodically rather than rushing.

- Removed the bed frame in its separate slats and posts
- Cleared the dining chair and the rubbish bags
- Loaded the van and took the load to our licensed facility for sorting
After the Clearance
The Result
We had the flat cleared in around 45 minutes, with the sofa, bed frame, chair and rubbish all gone in one visit. Reusable furniture was set aside for reuse, and the rest was sorted for recycling at our licensed site.
