When Dan needed a first floor flat in Hampstead cleared of bagged rubbish and old boxes, he booked us in for a Saturday rubbish removal in Hampstead. Around a dozen bin bags of household rubbish, old clothes and linens had built up, along with roughly twenty flattened cardboard boxes from parcels and a house move. Our North London rubbish collection team fitted the job into the weekend so it did not eat into his working week.
The Challenge
With the flat on the first floor, every bag and box had to be carried down the stairs rather than loaded straight from ground level. The bin bags were a mixed weight, some light with clothes and linens and others heavier with general rubbish, so we worked through them steadily rather than overloading on one trip. The stack of cardboard boxes was bulky but light, so we flattened and bundled what we could to cut down the number of trips up and down the stairs.

- Carried the bin bags down from the first floor in manageable loads
- Flattened and bundled the cardboard boxes to reduce trips
- Cleared the last of the boxes and rubbish from the flat
- Loaded the van and took everything for sorting and recycling
After the Clearance
The Result
We had the flat cleared in around 40 minutes, with the bin bags and boxes gone before the weekend was even half over. The cardboard was kept aside for recycling and the rest was sorted at our licensed facility. We cover Camden rubbish collections including Saturdays, with the price agreed before we started.
