When Dan needed a Shoreditch office cleared, he booked us for a specialist office bar removal. The main item was a very heavy timber bar built into a lower-ground office, with a steep flight of stairs up to street level. With our Central London office clearance team on site, we worked out a safe plan to break it down and carry it out without damage.
The Challenge
The bar was solid, heavy and far too large to move in one piece, especially from a lower-ground floor with high stairs to negotiate. Carrying it whole was not an option, so the safest and quickest approach was to chop it down into manageable sections on site. Each piece then had to be carried up the stairs and out to the van by hand. Careful dismantling protected both the team and the building, and kept the load compact at around a third of a large Luton van.

The Process
- Checked the bar, the lower-ground access and the stair route with Dan
- Cleared the surrounding items and the back-bar units first
- Chopped the heavy bar down into manageable sections on site
- Carried each section up the high stairs by hand
- Loaded the timber and units compactly into the van
- Took the load to our licensed facility, with timber sent for recycling
After the Clearance
The Result
We had the office cleared in around two hours, with the bar reduced to a tidy load of about a third of a large Luton van. Breaking it down on site meant no damage to the stairs or walls on the way up. The job was handled through our heavy furniture removal process, with the timber recycled. Pricing was agreed before we started, with no hidden costs.
